Despite the recent decline in Christianity, with the younger generations beginning to favor atheism and agnosticism, slave morality is at an all time high. Ĭlearly Christianity no longer has any connection to this. Nietzsche saw democracy and Christianity as the same emasculating impulse which sought TO MAKE ALL EQUAL, TO MAKE ALL SLAVES. This resentment Nietzsche calls "priestly vindictiveness", which is the jealousy of the weak seeking to enslave the strong with itself. Nietzche blamed Christianity for the widespread change from master to slave morality, calling this switch "the collective degeneration of man." Here are some quotes from the wiki entry: Weakness conquered strength, slave conquered master, re-sentiment conquered sentiment. Modern western society undeniably favors slave morality while totally disregarding, even shunning, the master side. Nieztche believed that the ancient white civilizations, such as Rome and Greece (the foundation for the modern western world of today), were a master morality race. Slave morality values things like kindness, humility and sympathy, while master morality values pride, strength, and nobility. I know that many here are Nietzche fans, but for those who are unaware, master and slave morality is a philosophy on morals and the history of morals within society proposed by Friedrich Nieztche.
